Tectonic Plates are pieces of the lithosphere that float on the asthenosphere. They collide, separate, and scrape against each other forming different boundaries. One boundary is the transform boundary. This boundary is a boundary that has two tectonic plates grind against each other and it forms earthquakes. Another boundary is the divergent boundary. This boundary separates and forms volcanoes and sea-floor spreadings at mid-ocean ridges. The last boundary is the convergent boundary. This boundary occurs when one tectonic plate moves under another tectonic plate. This boundary may form volcanoes.
